House of Commons Tea Party - July 2006

About 120 Samaritans and Friends gathered in the splendidly appointed Members' Dining Room and enjoyed an excellent tea overlooking the Thames, hosted by Guildford's MP Anne Milton.  The event was not a big fundraiser but gained us two more Covenanters and was a fitting way for Guildford Branch to mark the introduction of 24/7 as the National Fundraising Day.

Challenge Sri Lanka Trek - 6-16 November 2004

ImageA group of 9 keen trekkers ventured to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka to take part in a 10 day trek.  The trek covered 85km through jungle clearings, rainforest, tea plantations and infrequently travelled paths, fortunately avoiding snakes but encountering many leeches!  The end of the trek was marked by a raft trip to the final destination, Ranwelli, followed by a gala dinner.  The trek raised £15,000 for the Guildford Branch.

Golf Day - 12 May 2003

Bramley Golf Club was the venue for our golf day during the summer of 2003.  We raised nearly £3,000 from the day's activities, which included a post-match dinner and auction.
